Custom World Maps
World maps and earth maps are opportunities to treat a familiar image in a dramatic way.
Global maps are custom map illustrations. We make them with custom colors and terrain images. To customize a globe image, we add clouds or ocean currents.
Aquaball
With clouds and other special effects, this illustration is a variation on the typical earth-sphere image. The image used Adobe Illustrator’s 3D effect to wrap a conventional map projection around a sphere, an SVG filter, and vector bristle brushes to create the clouds.
One-World Globe
This trick projection shows both hemispheres as though they were on the same side of the globe. It’s been used in print and on the web.
